Custom Security Screen Doors in Phoenix

Combine a screened entry with a purpose-built metal door. Review the design, hardware, and installation rather than judging protection by looks alone.

Fit, materials, and the way you use the space

A stronger entry starts with the complete door.

Arizona Screen Techs lists custom security screen doors as a main part of its metal-door work. The published range includes several mesh options and examples of decorative and more straightforward metal designs.

This is a different product discussion from ordinary insect screening. A security-door assessment considers the door structure, locking hardware, fixing points, entry-frame condition, and how the installed assembly will operate.

No burglar-proof, storm, or tested impact rating should be inferred from a photograph or the word security. Ask for the actual construction, hardware, and any documented performance applicable to the chosen system.

Design and screen material

The operator’s published screen choices include bug screening, TuffScreen, PetScreen, and Phifer SunTex 80/90. Those names describe the screening material, not a protective rating for the complete door.

Compare visibility, daylight, durability, and shade alongside the metal design. A more decorative door can still need the same careful discussion about hardware and installation as a plain design.

Locks, hinges, and the surrounding opening

The door and its mounting need to be considered as one assembly. Discuss the latch or lock, hinge arrangement, fixing method, and condition of the existing frame.

If repairs are needed to the entry before installation, clarify who handles them and whether they are part of the written scope. Do not assume new hardware corrects an unsuitable mounting surface.

Single and double-entry layouts

Existing project photos show different entry arrangements, including paired metal doors. The actual opening, existing entry doors, and required clearance determine what can be proposed for your property.

For a paired opening, review how each leaf moves and secures, which side is normally used, and how emergency access is maintained. The final arrangement is confirmed during assessment.

What an estimate should establish

Ask for the door dimensions, design, compatible mesh, finish, hardware, fixing method, and installation boundary to be clearly described. Confirm the actual availability and any written warranty for that combination.

Use the project photographs to discuss appearance and layout, not to infer a particular certification, price, or performance rating. Any protective performance claim needs its own documentation.

Keep ordinary-screen safety expectations separate

Adding tougher fabric to a window or an ordinary screen door does not automatically create the same product as a custom security door.

Window-fall protection is also a separate issue. CPSC warns against relying on ordinary screens to prevent children from falling. Discuss the required protective purpose rather than treating all screening as one category.

Before the final specification

What changes
the estimate?

There is no universal installed price for every opening. A useful estimate defines the materials, dimensions, hardware, access, and installation boundary for your project.

  • Opening layout
  • Metal design and construction
  • Mesh and finish
  • Hardware and fixing
  • Condition of the surrounding entry frame

Final measurements and product availability are checked before work is arranged. Share approximate dimensions if you know them; exact ordering sizes are not required to start the conversation.

Before you decide

Clear answers
for your project.

Are these doors burglar-proof?

No blanket guarantee is made. Review the exact door, hardware, fixing, and any documented protective performance for the selected assembly.

Can I choose a decorative design?

The operator publishes decorative and straightforward metal-door examples. Discuss available designs and the opening before the final specification is agreed.

Can solar mesh be used in a security screen door?

The published operator range includes SunTex 80/90 among screening options. Confirm compatibility, visibility, and shading for the chosen door.

Do you also install fencing and gates?

Arizona Screen Techs publishes wider custom ironwork services on its company website. This site focuses on screens, shade, and door projects; contact the operator about unrelated ironwork scope.
